Does this tool require any software installation?▼
No — it uses the built-in Screen Capture API available in modern browsers. Everything runs in the browser tab itself. No extensions, plugins, or desktop apps are needed.
Which browsers support screen recording?▼
Google Chrome (version 72+), Microsoft Edge (79+), and Mozilla Firefox (66+) all support the Screen Capture API. Safari on macOS and iOS does not currently support getDisplayMedia and cannot be used for this tool.
What format is the recording saved in?▼
Recordings are saved as WebM (VP9 codec), which is natively supported by Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Android. To convert to MP4 for broader compatibility, you can use the Video Converter tool on this site.
Can I record internal system audio?▼
Yes — select 'Screen + System Audio' before starting. On Windows (Chrome/Edge), you can check 'Share system audio' in the browser's screen picker dialog. On macOS, system audio capture is not natively supported by the browser due to OS restrictions.
